• Coordinate all activities to meet the customers’ needs within the company’s capabilities
— Manage the processes around customer’s orders from receipt to delivery of finished product,
— Ensure people are aware of and following all requirements of the customer/company,
— Ensure that all the appropriate information from customers and internal sources are provided to the Manufacturing Group to enhance production efficiency,
— Ensure required co-ordination and liaison occurs with others in related sections to maintain quality, reliability and continuity of service and efficiency,
— Ensure any changes in the manufacturing schedule are communicated to all affected parties,
— Oversee the packing of finished product to meet customers’ specifications and the preparation of material for shipment to customers, and
— Ensure finished product is shipped to customers in a timely way to meet agreed schedules.
• Manage inventory levels and plan production to meet sales requirements for both domestic and export markets.
• Aid in the improvement of capital projects through monitoring all stages of production (i.e. raw materials purchasing, production, WPS) and identifying opportunities for cost and efficiency improvement.
• Manage WPS operation to ensure the provision of a complete sales service function, including initial order processing and sales forecasting, liaison with the Divisional functions to provide a high level of customer service.
• Manage the procurement and local purchasing activities for the site. Establish internal controls for the safeguarding of all tangible assets, cash expenditures for materials and supplies.
• Plan, prepare, and monitor departmental budgets and expenditures to meet financial cost targets and objectives established through formal planning processes.
• Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, and assuring effective alignment with the matrix functions.
• Participate as an active member of the site Management Team & Regional Logistics Management Team.
Education& Experience
• Bachelor/University degree in Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
• At least 5 years in a Logistics Operational group in the chemical industry or any other process industry.
• Logistics experience in planning activities downstream or upstream, transport organization, inventory management and transactional system (ECSS or any other standard ERP).
• Proven track record for managing and coordinating multifunctional Logistics activities (e.g. order taking, transport, planning, purchasing).
